Sword in the Stone Games invites the tabletop gaming community back to our shop on Friday, June 19, 2020 as Luzerne County enters the GREEN phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic Prevention and Remediation plan. The following rules will be in place based on the Pennsylvania Department of Health phases below. These rules are subject to change or modification by the owner, general manager, deputy gm, or senior manager on duty.
  • Sunday – By appointment  (6/21: 5-10 pm)
  • Monday – 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Tuesday – 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Wednesday & Thursday – By Appointment
  • Friday – 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday – 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Luzerne County is in Green Phase

  • If you are feeling ill and/or have been closeby COVID-19 positive people within the last 14 days, please stay home.
  • All customers and staff must properly wear a face mask as demonstrated by Shavertown, PA Dr. Sanjay Udoshi (https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=634294237153241). If a person cannot wear a face mask due to a documented medical condition, please contact us at info@swordstonegames.com or 570-762-9599 for special accommodations before coming to the shop.
  • All customers must enter through the lower level door at the Fairbairn Lane entrance to the building. (See the map here: https://swordstonegames.com/wilkes-barre-shop-location/) Do not attempt to enter through the Northampton Street or South Washington Street street-level doors.
  • Upon entry, all customers must wash their hands for 20 seconds at the designated hand washing sink in the lower level restroom. One person in the restroom at a time per household, with the exception of caregiving.
  • Children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied and within arms length of a parent or guardian at all times. They must properly wear face masks. If a child cannot wear a face mask, they cannot be in the shop.
  • All shop visitors must exit through the Northampton Street doors. Please use your hip or elbow to use the crash-bars to avoid surface contacts.
  • No more than 50 customers may be in the lower-level retail space at a time. To that end, staff respectfully reserve the right to limit customer visit times.
  • The snack bar will remain closed.  If you bring in outside food, please pack it out when you leave and throw it in the dumpster.
  • The upstairs retail space and game area will remain closed except by special arrangement.
  • Portions of our in-store gaming library will be unavailable.  Staff can assist with game rentals.
  • Customers who are able to pay with credit/debit or * Pcontactless payment such as SamsungPay or ApplePay are asked to do so.
  • Cash payment for purchases will only be accepted by a team member behind the sales counter.
  • Signatures for purchases greater than $15 will be done on paper instead of tablet.
  • All sales operations will pause hourly for sanitization procedures.
  • Visitors staying for more than 15 minutes will be temperature screened and anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will be asked to leave.

Reasonable Accommodations

Sword in the Stone Games understands that some individuals, due to medical conditions, cannot wear a mask. In those instances we provide the following reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act:
  • Curbside Service will be provided at no cost to customers. Online credit card or in-person cash payment will be accepted.
  • Event participants may play via webcam or online platform where the play experience will not be greatly diminished by virtual participation, except where play is prohibited by gaming sanctioning.
  • Sword in the Stone will provide “By Appointment Only” hours on certain days, where the only people allowed in our facility.
  • In-store participation in events may be accommodated by locating those requiring accommodation to a private gaming area if and only if 100% of all participants agree.
A reasonable accommodation as defined by the EEOC under the ADA is an action taken to accommodate a disabled person that does not jeopardize safety or pose an undue hardship for the business. According to a recent U.S. Department of Justice memo on ADA and the Coronavirus Pandemic, the ADA does not provide a blanket exemption to people with disabilities from complying with legitimate safety requirements necessary for safe operations.
